Capillary Electrophoresis Mass Spectrometry-Based Metabolomics of Plasma Samples from Healthy Subjects in a Cross-Sectional Japanese Population Study

open access: yesMetabolites, 2021
For large-scale metabolomics, such as in cohort studies, normalization protocols using quality control (QC) samples have been established when using data from gas chromatography and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.

"MS-Patch-Clamp" or the Possibility of Mass Spectrometry Hybridization with Patch-Clamp Setups for Single Cell Metabolomics and Channelomics [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Biochemistry, Vol. 3, pp. 66-71 (2015), 2015
In this projecting work we propose a mass spectrometric patch-clamp equipment with the capillary performing both a local potential registration at the cell membrane and the analyte suction simultaneously. This paper provides a current literature analysis comparing the possibilities of the novel approach proposed with the known methods, such as scanning

Capillary zone electrophoretic studies of ion association between inorganic anions and tetraalkylammonium ions in aqueous-dioxane media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Ion association between inorganic anions and symmetrical tetraalkylammonium ions, R4N+ (R = Me, Et, Pr, n-Bu, n-Am, and 2-methyl butyl {isoamyl = iAm}) was investigated using ordinary silica capillary by capillary zone electrophoresis.

The development of a method to determine felinine in body fluids by capillary electrophoresis : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Philosophy in Chemistry at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Ion-exchange, paper-chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography were used in earlier studies for the determination of felinine in biological fluids. These methods were either inadequate and/or need laborious sample pre-treatments.

Respiratory complex I‐mediated NAD+ regeneration regulates cancer cell proliferation through the transcriptional and translational control of p21Cip1 expression by SIRT3 and SIRT7

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Germline variants in CDKN2A wild‐type melanoma prone families

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Among melanoma‐prone families, wild‐type for CDKN2A and CDK4, some have pathogenic variants in genes not usually linked to melanoma. Furthermore, rare XP‐related variants and variants in MC1R are enriched in such families. Germline pathogenic variants in CDKN2A are well established as an underlying cause of familial malignant melanoma. While pathogenic

New electrolyte systems for capillary zone electrophoresis of metal cations and non-ionic organic compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is the most attractive and very promising separation technique today due to its inherent capabilities. It is a long history from the first appearance of electrophoresis technique to modern capillary electrophoresis ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Detection of Mutations in Exon 8 of TP53 by Temperature Gradient 96-Capillary Array Electrophoresis

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2002
Various capillary electrophoresis applications have increasingly been utilized in mutation detection. Separation of two species is either based on secondary structure or differences in melting of DNA due to the mutation.
