Displacement electrophoresis

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1967
The method of displacement electrophoresis is described and its analogy with displacement chromatography shown. The apparatus consists basically of a capillary tube, a few tenths of a millimetre bore and thin walled, uniting two vessels, each containing an electrode.

Electrophoresis of Ferritins

Nature, 1968
ELECTROPHORETIC studies of ferritins—iron containing proteins—from horse, man and HeLa cells have already been recorded1,2. This communication describes the electrophoretic patterns of a plant ferritin known as phytoferritin3 and of ferritins from pig, ox and guinea-pig, compared with human and horse ferritin.

Electrophoresis in Organogels

Analytical Chemistry, 2004
A new matrix for electrophoresis, a low molecular weight organogel, is described. Dansylated amino acids and peptides were separated by planar and capillary electrophoresis in acetonitrile gels of trans-(1S,2S)-1,2-bis(dodecylamido)cyclohexane. The superior separation ability of the organogel over its corresponding buffer solution in capillary ...

Cationic Electrophoresis

2012
Denaturing, discontinuous electrophoresis in the presence of SDS has become a standard method for the protein scientist. However, there are situations where this method produces suboptimal results. In these cases, electrophoresis in the presence of positively charged detergents such as cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) may work considerably better.
