A Critical Time Window of Neocortex Modulation for Remote Fear Memory in Rats and Humans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a delayed consolidation window around 18 h after fear learning in the mPFC essential for remote fear memory. VTA dopaminergic input during this window sustains remote memory in rats, while non‐invasive stimulation of homologous human mPFC at the corresponding time selectively weakens remote but not recent fear memory, revealing a ...

Individual differences in inhibitory control - relationship between baseline activation in lateral PFC and an electrophysiological index of response inhibition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The capacity to inhibit inappropriate responses is crucial for goal-directed behavior. Inhibiting such responses seems to come more easily to some of us than others, however. From where do these individual differences originate?

Pre‐Regenerative Endothelial Cells Empowered by Antler Blood Exosomes Orchestrate Peripheral Nerve Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The pre‐regenerative vascular niche (PVN) is essential for nerve repair, yet its endothelial blueprint remains unclear. We identified angiogenic ECs (AECs) as the dominant pre‐regenerative subset and found that antler blood–derived exosomes (AB‐EXO) promote repair via IMP3.

Electrophysiological and arrhythmogenic effects of 5-hydroxytryptamine on human atrial cells are reduced in atrial fibrillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) is proarrhythmic in atrial cells from patients in sinus rhythm (SR) via activation of 5-HT4 receptors, but its effects in atrial cells from patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) are unknown.

3-D computer animation of electrophysiological responses

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience Methods, 1992
Traditional methods for displaying electrophysiological data, that use time as the axis on a plot, are inadequate for displaying data from simultaneous multi-channel recordings. New methods proposed here plot the instantaneous value of the data on a third axis over a 2-dimensional spatial map of the tissue. The resulting 3-D computer-generated surfaces

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.
