Influence of the Mold Current on the Electroslag Remelting Process
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2016The electroslag remelting process is widely used to produce high value-added alloys. The use of numerical simulation has proven to be a valuable way to improve its understanding. In collaboration with Aubert & Duval, the Institute Jean Lamour has developed a numerical transient model of the process.

State Estimate Based on Nonlinear Filter of ElectroSlag Remelting Process
2008 IEEE Pacific-Asia Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Application, 2008State estimate strategy of electroSlag remelting process based on nonlinear filter algorithm was put forward in order to settle difficulty that electrode immersion depth can not directly measured, other state variable can not be unable directly measured and directly measure variable is with all kinds noise.

Thermal characteristics of the electroslag remelting process
2011The thermal characteristics of the electroslag remelting process have been investigated on a laboratory scale unit. The heat generation and distribution in the slag bed is discussed. The voltage gradients in the slag bed are predicted using a resistance network analogue and tested against experimental results.

Mass Transfer Model of Desulfurization in the Electroslag Remelting Process
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2017Experimental and theoretical studies have been carried out to investigate the effects of the slag on desulfurization during the electroslag remelting (ESR) process with a focus of developing a mass transfer model to understand the mechanism of desulfurization. Stainless steel 1Cr21Ni5Ti was used as the electrode and remelted with two different kinds of

The origin of inclusions in the electroslag remelting process
2010The aim of this work was to determine whether (ASTM E-45) D-type inclusions are a necessary component of ESR ingots. Therefore, experiments were undertaken to ascertain the origin of the inclusions. Pure iron (FVE) and electrolytic nickel were melted through CaF₂+CaO+Al₂0₃ slags, and the changes in the metal compositions (with respect to calcium ...
