Harnessing Organometallic Au(III) Complexes as Precision Scaffolds for Next‐Generation Therapeutic and Imaging Agents

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Cyclometalated gold(III) complexes offer a versatile platform for selective biological interactions, including cysteine arylation, redox modulation, and enzyme inhibition. This review explores their roles in anticancer, antimicrobial, and protein modification strategies, highlighting their ability to disrupt metabolic pathways, modulate aquaporins, and

Rivalling Self‐Oxidation and Aldehyde Deformylation by a Dinuclear Copper(II)‐Superoxide Complex

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
A dinuclear Cu2L2‐O2•− reactive intermediate stabilized by a tetradentate N3O ligand set is postulated to be at the origin of aldehyde deformylation via a Baeyer‐Villiger oxidation mechanism, while enabling a radical self‐oxidation cascade in the absence of the substrate.

Efficient Synthesis of Porphyrin–Iridium Complex for Enhanced Cocatalyst‐Free Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
The tetra‐coordinated iridium‐motif conjugated porphyrin T‐Ir‐ZnPF, possessing Förster‐type triplet‐to‐singlet energy transfer, produces an efficient cocatalyst‐free photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate (ηH2) of 5.34 mmol g⁻¹ h⁻¹, whereas hydrogen evolution was not detected for the control porphyrin ZnPF without the iridium‐motif.

Synthesis, Characterization and Application of Thioindigosulfonic Acids as Electrolytes in an Aqueous Organic Redox Flow Battery

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 12, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The first synthesis of thioindigosulfonic acids via sulfonation of the parent dye is presented, together with the evaluation of key electrolytic properties, such as solubility and charge transfer characteristics. Investigations conducted in a flow cell demonstrated stable performance over 200 charge/discharge cycles without crossover or degradation ...

Cationic Phosphino Beryllium Scorpionates and their Reactivity as Lewis Acid–Base Pairs

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Monocationic tris(pyrazolyl)borate beryllium phosphine complexes are synthesized and characterized. These compounds readily react with substrates like CO2, SO2, H2, O2, S8, and Se8. Therefore, the nature of the BeP bond is also analyzed computationally. Herein, the article describes a facile and modular access to cationic beryllium phosphine complexes
