Electrostatic curved electrode actuators [PDF]
In this paper, the design, fabrication, and first experimental results of electrostatic curved electrode actuators are addressed. The actuator design is based upon the deformation of a movable micromechanical structure by electrostatic forces using a fixed curved electrode.

Nanodiamond Quantum Sensors for Probing Free Radical Biology
Free radicals play key roles in cellular signaling and disease but remain difficult to measure in living systems. Nanodiamonds (NDs) with nitrogen‐vacancy (NV) centers enable quantum sensing of local magnetic noise via T₁ relaxometry, providing nondestructive radical detection in living cells.

Fabrication of an active nanostencil with integrated microshutters [PDF]
An active nanostencil, consisting of a thin (200 nm) silicon nitride membrane with attached polysilicon microactuators that can be used to dynamically open and/or close holes in the silicon nitride membrane, is presented.

Optomechanical zipper cavity lasers: theoretical analysis of tuning range and stability [PDF]
The design of highly wavelength tunable semiconductor laser structures is presented. The system is based on a one dimensional photonic crystal cavity consisting of two patterned, doubly-clamped nanobeams, otherwise known as a "zipper" cavity.

High frequency pressure oscillator for microcryocoolers [PDF]
Microminiature pulse tube cryocoolers should operate at a frequency of an order higher than the conventional macro ones because the pulse tube cryocooler operating frequency scales inversely with the square of the pulse tube diameter.
