ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

History and Progress of Fractional-Order Element Passive Emulators: A Review [PDF]
This paper presents a state-of-the-art survey in the area of fractional-order element passive emulators adopted in circuits and systems. An overview of the different approximations used to estimate the passive element values by means of rational ...

ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Sampler of gas borne particles [PDF]
An atmosphere sample is described which includes a very thin filter element with straight-through holes on the order of 1 micron. A sample of air with particles to be examined is driven by means of a pressurized low molecular weight gas, e.g., He to the ...

Lowest order Virtual Element approximation of magnetostatic problems
We give here a simplified presentation of the lowest order Serendipity Virtual Element method, and show its use for the numerical solution of linear magneto-static problems in three dimensions.

ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Quadrature for second-order triangles in the Boundary Element Method [PDF]
A quadrature method for second-order, curved triangular elements in the Boundary Element Method (BEM) is presented, based on a polar coordinate transformation, combined with elementary geometric operations.

Computing Multiplicative Order and Primitive Root in Finite Cyclic Group
Multiplicative order of an element $a$ of group $G$ is the least positive integer $n$ such that $a^n=e$, where $e$ is the identity element of $G$. If the order of an element is equal to $|G|$, it is called generator or primitive root.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Hermite Finite Element Method for Time Fractional Order Damping Beam Vibration Problem
In this paper, the vibration problem of a beam with a time fractional damping term is studied by the Hermite finite element method, and its fully discrete scheme is obtained.
