We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Low order nonconforming finite element method for time-dependent nonlinear Schrödinger equation
The main aim of this paper is to apply a low order nonconforming EQ1rot $\mathit{EQ}_{1}^{\mathrm{rot}}$ finite element to solve the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Firstly, the superclose property in the broken H1 $H^{1}$-norm for a backward Euler fully-

High Order Relaxation Methods for Co-simulation of Finite Element and Circuit Solvers
Coupled problems result in very stiff problems whose char- acteristic parameters differ with several orders in magni- tude. For such complex problems, solving them monolithi- cally becomes prohibitive.

Ordered sums of group elements
AbstractThe following theorem is proved. If a1, … ak are distinct elements of a group, written additively, though not necessarily Abelian, and the sums ai1 + … + aim, 1 ⩽ i1 < … < im ⩽ k do not represent 0, then they represent at least 2k − 1 distinct elements, and this bound 2k − 1 is attained only when k ⩽ 3 or when the elements a1, …, ak generate a ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Stochastic higher order finite element elasto-plastic analysis of the necking phenomenon
The principal goal of this work is to investigate an application of the stochastic perturbation technique of the 10th order in coupled thermo-elasto-plastic analysis of tension of the steel elastic bar exposed to fire with thermally dependent material ...

Boolean elements in the Bruhat order
We show that $w\in W$ is boolean if and only if it avoids a set of Billey-Postnikov patterns, which we describe explicitly. Our proof is based on an analysis of inversion sets, and it is in large part type-uniform. We also introduce the notion of linear pattern avoidance, and show that boolean elements are characterized by avoiding just the $3$ linear ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Ubiquitous short-range order in multi-principal element alloys
Recent research in multi-principal element alloys (MPEAs) has increasingly focused on the role of short-range order (SRO) on material performance. However, the mechanisms of SRO formation and its precise control remain elusive, limiting the progress of ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
