Highly stable activated carbon composite material to selectively capture gas-phase elemental mercury from smelting flue gas: Copper polysulfide modification

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2019
Gaseous elemental mercury removal from high SO2 flue gas is an urgent environmental problem. In this study, a new sorbent, copper polysulfide modification activated carbon (CuxSy@AC), was synthesized.

Massive Oral Ingestion of Elemental Mercury

Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1993
A 42 year old male, while repairing a sphygmomanometer, intentionally ingested an estimated 3 kg (220 mL) of metallic mercury. During admission, only tremor, irritability, forgetfulness and fatigue were noted. There were no obvious gastrointestinal or hepatic complications. Blood and urine mercury levels were significantly elevated.

Seawater-assisted synthesis of MnCe/zeolite-13X for removing elemental mercury from coal-fired flue gas

, 2020
To develop an efficient and low-cost sorbent for removing elemental mercury (Hg0) from chlorine-free coal-fired flue gas, the Na-13X zeolite (Z13X) was modified by the natural seawater and MnOx-CeO2.

Poisoning From Aspiration of Elemental Mercury

Clinical Toxicology, 2006
Mercury and mercury compounds (inorganic and organic) can cause acute or chronic poisoning. Acute poisonings, especially with inorganic salts, are widely described, but only sparse data are available on intoxication from oral elemental mercury. We report a case of elemental mercury ingestion followed by pulmonary aspiration of the elemental mercury.A ...

Immune Thrombocytopenia and Elemental Mercury Poisoning

Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1995
Three cases of severe mercury toxicity occurring within a family are reported. Two cases of thrombocytopenia occurred in this family and represent the second such report in the literature of an association between elemental mercury toxicity and thrombocytopenia.

Graphene enhanced Mn-Ce binary metal oxides for catalytic oxidation and adsorption of elemental mercury from coal-fired flue gas

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2019
Graphene was used for the enhancement of gaseous elemental mercury (Hg0) catalytic oxidation and adsorption over Mn-based oxides. A series of graphene modified Mn-based and Ce-Mn-based oxides were prepared via a hydrothermal method.

The effect of activated carbon injection rate on the removal of elemental mercury in a particulate collector with fabric filters

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology, 2009
The characteristics of the removal of gaseous elemental mercury using activated carbon injection in a particulate collector with fabric filters were experimentally estimated. The experiments showed that, at given conditions in this research, the removals

Elemental mercury removal from syngas by porous carbon-supported CuCl2 sorbents

Fuel, 2019
A series of sorbents based on biomass-derived porous carbon-supported CuCl2 (CuCl2-PC) were synthesized and employed for elemental mercury (Hg0) removal from the syngas.
