On Witness-Discernibility of Elementary Particles [PDF]
By focussing on the intentional character of observation in science, we argue that Constructive Empiricism—B.C. van Fraassen’s much debated and explored view of science—is inconsistent. We then argue there are at least two ways out of our Inconsistency Argument, one of which is more easily to square with Constructive Empiricism than the other.

Flexural Behavior of Bidirectionally Graded Lattice
An experimental study of the bending behavior of bidirectional body‐centered cubic lattice beams is conducted in comparison to uniform and unidirectional counterparts of electron beam melted SS 316 L. Experimental results are used to develop and validate a finite element model which is subsequently used to conduct parametric studies to assess the ...

Critical Exponents and Elementary Particles [PDF]
Particles are shown to exist for a.e. value of the mass in single phase φ4 lattice and continuum field theories and nearest neighbor Ising models. The particles occur in the form of poles at imaginary (Minkowski) momenta of the Fourier transformed two point function.

A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.

Anisotropic Turbulent Advection of a Passive Vector Field: Effects of the Finite Correlation Time
The turbulent passive advection under the environment (velocity) field with finite correlation time is studied. Inertial-range asymptotic behavior of a vector (e.g., magnetic) field, passively advected by a strongly anisotropic turbulent flow, is ...

Lattice simulations of the thermodynamics of strongly interacting elementary particles and the exploration of new phases of matter in relativistic heavy ion collisions [PDF]
At high temperatures or densities matter formed by strongly interacting elementary particles (hadronic matter) is expected to undergo a transition to a new form of matter - the quark gluon plasma - in which elementary particles (quarks and gluons) are no

CHARGED SHELLS AND ELEMENTARY PARTICLES [PDF]
We review the General Relativistic model of a (quasi-)pointlike particle represented by a massive shell of electrically charged matter, which displays an ADM mass M equal to the electric charge |Q| in the small-volume limit. We employ the Israel–Darboux's junction equations to explicitly derive this result, and then study the modifications introduced ...

A precision measurement by AMS of the antiproton flux and the antiproton-to-proton flux ratio in primary cosmic rays in the absolute rigidity range from 1 to 450 GV is presented based on 3.49×10^{5} antiproton events and 2.42×10^{9} proton events.

Conformal barrier and hidden local symmetry constraints: Walking technirhos in LHC diboson channels
We expand the previous analyses of the conformal barrier on the walking technirho for the 2 TeV diboson excesses reported by the ATLAS Collaboration, with a special emphasis on the hidden local symmetry (HLS) constraints.

Noncommutative field theories with harmonic term
The UV-IR mixing of scalar field theory on the Moyal space is removed by the harmonic term, so that the theory is renormalizable. We will present different properties of this scalar model and its associated gauge theory, which is candidate to ...
