The opposition and tilt effects of Saturn's rings from HST observations
The two major factors contributing to the opposition brightening of Saturn's rings are i) the intrinsic brightening of particles due to coherent backscattering and/or shadow-hiding on their surfaces, and ii) the reduced interparticle shadowing.

The ionospheric delay effect is inevitable when a radio signal propagates through the ionosphere. It has been extensively studied in the L-band. Typically, the influence of the ionosphere on the code phase and carrier phase is regarded as the same.

The impact of solar elevation angle on the net radiative effect of tropical cyclone clouds
In this study solar elevation angle is shown to have a dominant impact on the net radiation due to tropical cyclone (TC) clouds. As solar elevation angle increases, net cooling effects from TC clouds dominate over net warming effects.

Performance Analysis for Elevation Angle Dependent Time-Varying Land Mobile Satellite Channel Model
The main goal of this study is to address how a change in the signal envelope due to the random occurrence of the elevation angle affects the ground-to-satellite or satellite-to-ground link performance in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication ...

Investigations of the ionospheric using radio signals from artificial satellites [PDF]
The occurrence and characteristics of ionospheric irregularities in medium latitudes and in polar regions were measured using radio signals from artificial satellites. Ionospheric changes during quiet and disturbed conditions were also measured. Electron

Conical scan tracking system employing a large antenna [PDF]
A conical scan tracking system for tracking spacecraft and distant radio sources is described. The system detects small sinusoidal modulation in received power from a source that is off target with a frequency equal to a very low scan rate, an amplitude ...
