Application of artificial immune algorithm in the dynamic zoning of elevator traffic
Fifth World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (IEEE Cat. No.04EX788), 2004AIS, short for artificial immune system, is an artificial intelligence approach newly put forward, which has been widely applied to many fields such as data analysis, multi-modal function optimisation, computer security, error detection, etc. Base on the artificial immune algorithm, a novel approach was proposed for elevator traffic dynamic non ...

ST-elevation myocardial infarction incidence in a high-risk seismic zone
The American Journal of Emergency MedicineEarthquakes are unpredictable natural events that can elicit acute physiological responses, potentially triggering cardiovascular events. This study investigates the association between seismic activity and ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) admissions in a tertiary care hospital in an earthquake-prone region over 19 years. We analyzed STEMI ...

Elevated-Risk Work Zone Evaluation of Temporary Rumble Strips
Journal of Transportation Safety & Security, 2011A field study was conducted on a Missouri low-volume road to examine if temporary rumble strips could improve safety in elevated-risk work zones. This study complements previous studies by addressing several new issues: vehicles that cross over a lane to bypass strips, physical displacement of strips, and deployment of strips at an angle.

An Optimization Model of Elevators Group Zoning Dispatching and Its Application
2010 First ACIS International Symposium on Cryptography, and Network Security, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, E-Commerce and Its Applications, and Embedded Systems, 2010Considering the difficultly of passengers taking elevators in up-peak traffic mode, this paper studies and gives an optimal strategy of elevator group dynamic zoning dispatching. Firstly, this paper explains the basis and algorithm about this elevator group dynamic zoning dispatching model. Then it establishes one elevator service quality model and one

A simplified mathematical modeling and zone scheduling for multi-directional multi-car elevators
2015 IEEE 4th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2015ThyssenKrupp Elevator has proposed a multi-directional multi-car elevator product, called MULTI. In this paper, we proposed a simplified mathematical model for multi-directional multi-car elevators. This model is based on Markon's S-ring, which is for single-car elevators. We developed a modeling tool based on the proposed model.

Climate-driven depopulation of a low-elevation coastal zone
The latest IPCC report projects that regardless of the climate scenario, the highest rates of future sea-level rise will occur along the west-central US Gulf Coast. Meanwhile, recent research has shown that coastal wetlands in the Mississippi Delta are unable to survive rates of sea-level rise higher than 3 mm/yr, a number that was exceeded two decadesTorbjörn Törnqvist +3 more

Process Zone Modeling of Elevated Temperature Structural Ceramics.
1997Abstract : Post fracture tensile (PFT) experiments on two microstructures elucidated the crystallographic and microstructural contributions to the pullout resistance. In alumina, the average residual stresses arising from TEA diminish with increasing temperature, causing two effects evidenced by a general downward shift of the characteristic wake ...

Static Zoning Division Elevator Traffic Simulation Using Agent-Based Modeling
2019 Winter Simulation Conference (WSC), 2019Elevator traffic affects people who use elevators in high-rise buildings. This occurs due to elevators operating to cater passengers above its intended capacity. The next set of passengers still needs to wait approximately four minutes before they are serviced even if the elevators implement a static zoning division to reduce waiting time during peak ...
