A Long‐Lived Human Neurovascular PENTA Culture Model Captures Incomplete Vascular Repair and Glia‐Associated Signaling After Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A long‐lived, five‐cell‐type human neurovascular (PENTA) model recreates vascular disorganization and incomplete repair after traumatic brain injury (TBI). By integrating endothelial, glial, neuronal, and immune components within a 3D scaffold, the platform enables time‐resolved analysis of neurovascular remodeling and provides a human‐relevant system ...

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

SPECIFIC ANTIBODIES AGAINST THE ONCOGENIC VIRUS SV40 IN SERA OF BLOOD DONORS AND ONCOLOGIC PATIENTS DETECTED BY AN INNOVATIVE INDIRECT ELISA TEST

open access: yes, 2007
DNA sequences of the tumor virus SV40 and the expression of its oncoprotein Tag have been detected in human tumors, such as mesotheliomas, brain tumors, osteosarcomas and lymphomas. Little is known on the SV40 infection of human populations. In our study

Self‐Assembled Skin Equivalents with Monoclonal CRISPR/Cas9‐Modified N/TERT‐1 Keratinocytes: A Cutting‐Edge model for Human Skin and its Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled, scaffold‐free full‐thickness skin equivalents with monoclonal, genetically modified N/TERT‐1 keratinocytes represent a novel in vitro model of human skin and skin diseases. The model is highly robust, reproducible, physiologically relevant, and suitable for high‐throughput applications.

Diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis by ELISA test.

open access: yesThe Indian journal of medical research, 1994
Detection of IgG antibodies to Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37 Ra antigen in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), by ELISA test appears to be highly sensitive. In 90 per cent (18/20) of proven cases of tuberculous meningitis (TBM), antibodies were present in CSF; in 75 per cent (15/20) antibodies were also present in the sera. In the patients clinically suspected

Standardized Effect Measures Informing Next‐Generation Strategies for Mechanical Stimulation in Cartilage Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This systematic review quantitatively compares conventional mechanical stimulation strategies in cartilage tissue engineering across 85 heterogeneous in vitro studies. Applying standardized effect measures, meta‐analysis reveals that combined compression and shear loading optimally promotes cartilage matrix development.
