Engineered ETS1‐Nanoconjugate Restores Immune Homeostasis through Dual Immune‐Vascular Modulation in Relapsing and Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The biomimetic nanoplatform IMNP (ETS1 pDNA/PBAE@ITP‐MM) undergoes targeted disassembly at inflammatory vascular sites to release the ETS1 plasmid (pETS1). This release initiates a cascade of effects that inhibit pathogenic pathways and support immune homeostasis. (Abbreviations: EndMT, endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition; EC, endothelial cell; TC, T

Cacao’s Relationship with Mesoamerican Society [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We know what we eat, but do we eat what we know? Our diet extends far beyond nutrients and food availability—we imbue food with cultural significance. The meaning and use of a particular food is subject to change over time, but the fact that it holds a ...

Black mortality in antebellum Savannah [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Black mortality in an urban environment in the antebellum South is relatively under-researched. This article is based on burial records from Savannah between 1853 and 1861 and argues that black mortality in Savannah was noticeably better than on nearby ...

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

Comments on Caddo Origins in Northwest Louisiana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents some of my thoughts on the issue of Caddo origins from the perspective of the Red River drainage in northwest Louisiana. These ideas were assembled prior to the Caddo discussion group meeting held in December 2008 and have been only ...

Recent Progress on Flexible Multimodal Sensors: Decoupling Strategies, Fabrication and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this review, we establish a tripartite decoupling framework for flexible multimodal sensors, which elucidates the underlying principles of signal crosstalk and their solutions through material design, structural engineering, and AI algorithms. We also demonstrate its potential applications across environmental monitoring, health monitoring, human ...

Enhancement of the Ultraviolet Stability of Perovskite Solar by the Interface Modified with Cesium Chloride

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
CsCl interface modification promotes perovskite growth and suppresses recombination, boosting n–i–p perovskite solar cells (PSC) efficiency from 21.21% to 23.73% and enhancing UV stability fourfold, offering a simple route to efficient, stable PSCs. Stability is an important factor affecting the application of perovskite solar cells (PSCs).

States and Social Complexity: The Indus Valley (Harappan) Civilisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This article explores 'statehood' and argues Indus Valley (Harappan) Civilisation was not a state like contemporary Sumer and Egypt were, despite being equally complex - hence calling for revision of the unilineal anthropological model culminating in the
