3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Ion‐Reconfigurable “N”‐Shaped Antiambipolar Behavior in Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A unique N‐shaped negative differential transconductance (NDT) characteristics is demonstrated in single‐polymer organic electrochemical transistors through a sequential doping–redox–doping process driven by iodide ions. This redox‐driven mechanism enables low‐voltage, ion‐controlled reconfigurability and tunable current modulation, allowing seamless ...

The triangle construction of ellipse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
summary:In the first part, we assume well known characteristics of ellipse which are given by triangle construction using main circles. We extend them on some lesser known features like Apollonius's theorem of associated radii of the ellipse.

Standard ellipse areas. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
(A) Solid lines enclose the standard ellipse area (SEAc), containing ca. 40% of the data. (B) Density plots showing the credibility intervals of the Bayesian standard ellipse areas (SEAb). Black squares are the mode SEA, and boxes indicate the 50, 75 and

La métaphore Camusienne : paradigme de l’étrangeté

open access: yesإنسانيات, 2009
A systematic exploration of Camus’ metaphoric process put to work in “l’Etranger” leads up to an elaborate significance code of the variations determined by place, time and general context of his work.

Sub‐Nanometer Curvature Unlocks Quantum Orbital Flexoelectricity in Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In self‐assembled, reproducible, large‐area, quasi‐pristine graphene nanowrinkles, extreme curvature forces out‐of‐plane π‐electrons toward hybridization, driving a transition from classical to quantum orbital flexoelectricity. As curvature approaches the fundamental physical limit set by the C─C bond length, the resulting polarization increases by ...

The Spinning Ellipse Speed Illusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Spinning Ellipse Speed Illusion is an illusion of perceived speed in which a low-aspect ratio “fat” ellipse will appear to rotate more slowly than a higher-aspect ratio “skinny” ellipse that is rotating at the same speed. This illusory percept can be

The Closest and Farthest Points to an Affine Ellipse or Ellipsoid

open access: yesTsinghua Science and Technology, 2012
Affine ellipses/ellipsoids based bounding volumes are widely used in various graphics applications, such as ray tracing and collision detection. They provide a much tighter fit than the regular ellipses/ellipsoids.

Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Nominale Ellipse im Westgermanischen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
