New Tubular-Design Ellipse With Backup Pressure
Summary This paper proposes a tubular-design ellipse dependent on backup pressure (internal pressure for collapse and external pressure for burst), so that the latest American Petroleum Institute (API) collapse-resistance equations (API TR

A 3D‐Printed Blister Test Platform for Quantifying Biointerface Adhesion Mechanisms
A 3D‐printed blister platform enables energy‐resolved characterization of soft hydrogel–rigid interfaces. Integrating precision pressure control with hyperelastic modeling directly quantifies adhesion energy (G) and R‐curve toughening. Results reveal that modulating hydrogel concentration and surface roughness drives a tunable transition from cohesive ...

New Tubular Design Ellipse With Backup Pressure
Summary This paper develops a new von Mises ellipse based on backup pressure (internal pressure for collapse and external pressure for burst), so the new API collapse equations with dependence on internal pressure can be shown ...

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Ellipse, hyperbola and their conjunction [PDF]
Abstract This article presents a simple analysis of cones which are used to generate a given conic curve by section by a plane. It was found that if the given curve is an ellipse, then the locus of vertices of the cones is a hyperbola. The hyperbola has foci which coincidence with the ellipse vertices. Similarly, if the given curve is

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...
