Commercial Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Understanding Mechanism and Function Using In Operando Neutron Diffraction and X‐Ray Tomography Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In operando neutron diffraction reveals the real‐time structural evolution of O3‐type NaxNi1/3Mn1/3Fe1/3O2 in commercial sodium‐ion batteries that is coupled with electrochemical and tomography data. The study establishes a direct link between current‐dependent phase transitions, lattice kinetics, and electrochemical behavior, offering mechanistic ...

Magnetic‐Field Tuning of the Spin Dynamics in the Quasi‐2D Van der Waals Antiferromagnet CuCrP2S6

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reveals 2D character of the spin dynamics in CuCrP2S6, as well as complex field dependence of collective excitations in the antiferromagnetically ordered state. Their remarkable tuning from the antiferromagnetic to the ferromagnetic type with magnetic field, together with the non‐degeneracy of the magnon gaps favorable for the induction of ...

An Efficient Signature Scheme From Supersingular Elliptic Curve Isogenies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Since supersingular elliptic curve isogenies are one of the several candidate sources of hardness for building post-quantum cryptographic primitives, the research of efficient signature schemes based on them is still a hot topic.

Equidistribution of Hecke points on the supersingular module

open access: yes, 2012
For a fixed prime p, we consider the (finite) set of supersingular elliptic curves over $\bar{\mathbb{F}}$. Hecke operators act on this set. We compute the asymptotic frequence with which a given supersingular elliptic curve visits another under this ...

Unveiling Phonon Contributions to Thermal Conductivity and the Applicability of the Wiedemann—Franz Law in Ruthenium and Tungsten Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

Fermi Surface Nesting and Anomalous Hall Effect in Magnetically Frustrated Mn2PdIn

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mn2PdIn, a frustrated inverse Heusler alloy, showing electronic‐structure driven anomalous Hall effect with Weyl crossings, Fermi‐surface nesting and near‐zero magnetization ideal for low‐magnetization spintronics. Abstract Noncollinear magnets with near‐zero net magnetization and nontrivial bulk electronic topology hold significant promise for ...

Photoluminescent UV Light Modulation via Anisometric Carbon Nanodots for UV–Visible Shutter and UV Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anisometric carbon nanodots are synthesized directly from a liquid crystal precursor and embedded into polymer network liquid crystals to create soft, multifunctional photonic films. These hybrid devices exhibit polarized photoluminescence, broad UV absorption, and fast, electrically tunable light modulation.

On Heegner points of large conductors

open access: yes, 2000
Given a parametrisation of an elliptic curve over Q by a Shimura curve, we show that the images of almost all Heegner points are of infinite order.
