Chirality and Organization of Adsorbates Modify Surface Phonon Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chirality and molecular organization are shown to influence surface phonon dynamics in gold films. Time‐resolved Joule heating measurements reveal that ordered homochiral monolayers increase the Debye temperature and disordered layers reduce it, while ordered racemic controls have no effect.

The method for calculating singular integrals in problems of axially symmetric Stokes flows

open access: yesВісник Харківського національного університету імені В.Н. Каразіна. Серія: Математичне моделювання, інформаційні технології, автоматизовані системи управління, 2019
The flow of a viscous fluid at small Reynolds numbers (Stokes flow) in a three-dimensional formulation is investigated. In this case, the inertial terms in the equations of motion can be neglected. Such flows can occur in nanotubes that can be considered

Coating Artificial Spider Silk Fiber with Magnetic FeCo: An Effective Strategy for Creating a Flexible Magneto‐Responsive Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An original method is presented for producing artificial spider silk fibers with magnetic and magnetomechanical responsiveness, which consists in coating them with a nanometer‐thick layer of FeCo alloy by sputtering deposition. The challenge of combining organic materials and inorganic magnetic nanostructures is addressed, thus taking a step forward ...

Relativistic Interacting Integrable Elliptic Tops [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Mathematical Physics, 2019
We propose relativistic generalization of integrable systems describing $M$ interacting elliptic ${\rm gl}(N)$ tops of the Euler-Arnold type. The obtained models are elliptic integrable systems, which reproduce the spin elliptic ${\rm GL}(M)$ Ruijsenaars-Schneider model for $N=1$ case, while in the $M=1$ case they turn into relativistic integrable ...

Fluid Forces Control Structural Remodeling of Blind‐Ended Lymphatic Microvessels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Using innovative microfluidic biofabrication with fluid mechanical insights, we recapitulated the blind‐ended microanatomy and physiological drainage properties of capillary lymphatics. Our results reveal the interrelationship between intra‐ and extraluminal regions of lymphatic vessels due to flow‐induced sprouting and morphological changes that ...

Further Approximations for Elliptic Integrals [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1970
The present paper develops approximations for the three kinds of elliptic integrals based on the Padé approximations for the square root. The work includes and extends our previous work on the subject to provide efficient approximations over a larger part of the complex k k and ϕ \phi planes.

SiO2‐CaOCME/Poly(Tetrahydrofuran)/Poly(Caprolactone) 3D‐Printed Scaffolds Drive Human‐Bone Marrow Stromal Cell Osteogenic Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
3D printed hybrid scaffolds combining bioactive silica–calcium chemistry with elastic polymers guide human bone stem cells to form bone. The scaffolds support cell survival, organization, and invasion while releasing osteogenic ions. Together, architecture and composition drive bone‐specific gene expression, extracellular matrix organization, and ...
