Noncooperative elliptic systems [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik, 2010
The author proves the existence of solutions to noncooperative elliptic systems. The proof is based on abstract theories showed by the author and the monotonicity trick introduced by Struwe.

Prediction of Surface Topography Parameters in Direct Laser Interference Patterning of Stainless Steel Using Infrared Monitoring and Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents an infrared monitoring approach for direct laser interference patterning (DLIP) combined with a convolutional neural network (CNN). Thermal emission data captured during structuring are used to predict surface topography parameters.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Einstein equations under polarized $\mathbb U(1)$ symmetry in an elliptic gauge

open access: yes, 2017
We prove local existence of solutions to the Einstein--null dust system under polarized $\mathbb U(1)$ symmetry in an elliptic gauge. Using in particular the previous work of the first author on the constraint equations, we show that one can identify ...

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Existence of lattice solutions to semilinear elliptic systems with periodic potential

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
Under the assumption that the potential W is invariant under a general discrete reflection group $G'=TG$ acting on $mathbb{R}^n$, we establish existence of G'-equivariant solutions to $Delta u - W_u(u) = 0$, and find an estimate.

Dirichlet's and Thomson's principles for non-selfadjoint elliptic operators with application to non-reversible metastable diffusion processes

open access: yes, 2018
We present two variational formulae for the capacity in the context of non-selfadjoint elliptic operators. The minimizers of these variational problems are expressed as solutions of boundary-value elliptic equations.

Productivity‐Driven Optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Parameters for IN718 Superalloy: Process Control, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Transition from hyperbolicity to ellipticity for a p-system with viscosity

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2019
In this article we consider a viscous regularization of a p-system with a Van der Waals pressure law, which presents both hyperbolic and elliptic zones.

Cohomologies of Affine Jacobi Varieties and Integrable Systems

open access: yes, 2000
We study the affine ring of the affine Jacobi variety of a hyper-elliptic curve. The matrix construction of the affine hyper-elliptic Jacobi varieties due to Mumford is used to calculate the character of the affine ring.
