Novel 11-Substituted Ellipticines as Potent Anticancer Agents with Divergent Activity against Cancer Cells [PDF]

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2019
Ellipticines have well documented anticancer activity, in particular with substitution at the 1-, 2-, 6- and 9-positions. However, due to limitations in synthesis and coherent screening methodology the full SAR profile of this anticancer class has not ...

Ring D modifications of ellipticine. Part 1. New ellipticine derivatives from 1-cyano-6-methylellipticine. [PDF]

open access: yesTetrahedron, 1994
Abstract New ellipticine derivatives are synthesized by modification of the cyanogroup of 1-cyano-6-methylellipticine. This resulted in the information of 1-acetyl- and 1-acetamido-6-methylellipticine. Deprotonation of 1-cyano-6-methylellipticine under the influence of a Palladium catalyst leads to a new annelated ellipticine (9).

Hydrophobicity-enhanced ferritin nanoparticles for efficient encapsulation and targeted delivery of hydrophobic drugs to tumor cells. [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Sci, 2023
Abstract Ferritin, a naturally occurring iron storage protein, has gained significant attention as a drug delivery platform due to its inherent biocompatibility and capacity to encapsulate therapeutic agents. In this study, we successfully genetically engineered human H ferritin by incorporating 4 or 6 tryptophan residues per subunit, strategically ...

DNA Intercalators Inhibit Eukaryotic Ribosomal RNA Synthesis by Impairing the Initiation of Transcription. [PDF]

open access: yesGenes (Basel), 2021
In eukaryotes, ribosome biogenesis is driven by the synthesis of the ribosomal RNA (rRNA) by RNA polymerase I (Pol-I) and is tightly linked to cell growth and proliferation.

Estrutura e propriedades de elipticinas Structure and properties of ellipticines

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2005
The ellipticines constitute a broad class of molecules with antitumor activity. In the present work we analyzed the structure and properties of a series of ellipticine derivatives in the gas phase and in solution using quantum mechanical and Monte Carlo ...
