Compatibility of pellet fuelling with ELM suppression by RMPs in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2020
It is demonstrated that tokamak plasma can be fuelled by pellets while simultaneously maintaining ELM suppression by external resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs). Pellets are injected vertically from high field site and deposited at outer part of plasma cross section.

Pedestal bifurcation and resonant field penetration at the threshold of edge-localized mode suppression in the DIII-D tokamak

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2015
Rapid bifurcations in the plasma response to slowly varying n=2 magnetic fields are observed as the plasma transitions into and out of edge-localized mode (ELM) suppression.

RMP ELM suppression in DIII-D plasmas with ITER similar shapes and collisionalities [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2008
Large Type-I edge localized modes (ELMs) are completely eliminated with small n = 3 resonant magnetic perturbations (RMP) in low average triangularity, , plasmas and in ITER similar shaped (ISS) plasmas, , with ITER relevant collisionalities . Significant differences in the RMP requirements and in the properties of the ELM suppressed plasmas are found ...

Unified ELM suppression on KSTAR and DIII-D via adaptive feedback control strategies

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
This paper reports on the extension of our amplitude-based resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) edge localized mode (ELM) controller to support phasing control (relative toroidal phases of RMP waveforms between rows of coils), multiple toroidal mode ...

Non-linear modeling of the threshold between ELM mitigation and ELM suppression by resonant magnetic perturbations in ASDEX upgrade [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas, 2019
The interaction between Edge-Localized Modes (ELMs) and Resonant Magnetic Perturbations (RMPs) is modeled with the magnetohydrodynamic code JOREK using experimental parameters from ASDEX Upgrade discharges. According to the modeling, the ELM mitigation or suppression is optimal when the amplification of both tearing and peeling-kink responses results ...

Kinetic study of the bifurcation of resonant magnetic perturbations for edge localized mode suppression in ASDEX Upgrade

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
The correlation between the bifurcation of resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) to the unshielded state and edge localized mode (ELM) suppression in ASDEX Upgrade is studied using a kinetic plasma response model numerically and analytically.

Mechanism of CO2 Capacity Reduction of Flexible Metal-Organic Framework Caused by Water Adsorption

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2022
Elastic layer-structured metal-organic framework (MOF)-11 {ELM-11: [Cu(BF4)2 (4,4′-bipyridine)2]}, which is a crystalline porous material, is a promising adsorbent for high-throughput and high-efficiency separation processes of CO2 because of its ...
