Luminescence of the uranyl-ion-doped elpasolite lattice

Distinct species U(III), U(IV), U(V) and U(VI) have been identified when U(VI) or U(IV) species are doped into the cubic elpasolite lattice. The band intensities, and derived vibrational frequencies, in the luminescence and absorption spectra of the uranyl ion situated in this lattice are compared with those of Cs2UO2Cl4.

Abstract The luminescence and scintillation properties of Cs 2 LiLuCl 6 :0.5%Ce 3+ are presented. Two-photon (TP) spectroscopy of terbium(III) elpasolites

Data from the single-colour polarised TP spectra and emission spectra of crystals of Cs2NaTbCI6 and Cs2NaTbF6, and from the emission spectrum of Cs2NaTbBr6 have been analysed. Evidence is found for a large correlation crystal field, in several multiplets, that cannot be attributed to spin-correlation alone.

19F NMR Studies of Rare Earth Elpasolites

19F NMR studies were made on cubic elpasolites containing rare earth ions Pr3+, Tb3+, Ho3+ and Er3+. The anisotropic shift tensor in each case was significantly larger (∼20%) than that predicted by the direct dipole interaction.
