Lyapunov Modes in Hard-Disk Systems
We consider simulations of a two-dimensional gas of hard disks in a rectangular container and study the Lyapunov spectrum near the vanishing Lyapunov exponents. To this spectrum are associated “eigen-directions”, called Lyapunov modes.
