Removal of antibodies from red cells: Comparison of three elution methods

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science, 2013
Background: Direct antiglobulin test (DAT) is the most common test done in immunohematology lab, which detects immunoglobulin and fragments of complement attached to the red blood cells. These coated red blood cells are difficult to accurately phenotype,

Optimization of pressurized liquid extraction using a multivariate chemometric approach and comparison of solid phase extraction cleanup steps for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in mosses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A factorial design was used to optimize the extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from mosses, plants used as biomonitors of air pollution.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

A Suppression Method for Elution of F−, [B(OH)4]−, AsO43−, and CrO42− from Industrial Wastes Using Some Inhibitors and Crushed Stone Powder

open access: yesTechnologies, 2018
The disposal and the reuse of industrial wastes have become increasingly difficult due to the elution of hazardous anions, such as F−, [B(OH)4]−, AsO43−, and CrO42−.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Nanoporous Titanium Surfaces for Sustained Elution of Proteins and Antibiotics

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Current medically relevant metals for prosthetic reconstructions enjoy a relatively good success rate, but their performance drops significantly in patients with compromised health status, and post-surgical infections still remain an important challenge.

Overexpression of CDT1 inhibits cell cycle progression at S phase by interacting with the mini‐chromosome maintenance complex and causes DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...

Enhancing therapeutic antibody production through amino acid-induced pH shift in Protein A affinity chromatography

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Protein aggregation, denaturation, and loss of potency often occur during Protein A chromatography due to the harsh acidic conditions required for antibody elution.
