ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

"Dry-column" chromatography of plant pigments [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Separation of plant pigments which can be accomplished on thin-layer silica plates with mixture of petroleum ether, halocarbon, acetone, and polar solvent can be readily translated into dry-column technique that yields reproducible chromatograms after ...

Improved elution conditions for native co-immunoprecipitation. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Native immunoprecipitation followed by protein A-mediated recovery of the immuno-complex is a powerful tool to study protein-protein interactions. A limitation of this technique is the concomitant recovery of large amounts of immunoglobulin, which ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Complete gradient-LC-ESI system on a chip for protein analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents the first fully integrated gradient-elution liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization (LC-ESI) system on a chip. This chip integrates a pair of high-pressure gradient pumps, a sample injection pump, a passive mixer, a packed ...

Sulfanilic acid-modified chitosan mini-spheres and their application for lysozyme purification from egg white [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A cation exchange matrix with zwitterionic and multimodal properties was synthesized by a simple reaction sequence coupling sulfanilic acid to a chitosan based support. The novel chromatographic matrix was physico-chemically characterized by ss-NMR and ζ

A or AB? Resolving the dilemma of weaker subgroup through serological evaluation: Reporting two cases from Uttarakhand

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science
Blood group discrepancies and their resolution can sometimes become tricky when it comes to weaker subgroups. A number of weaker B subgroups, which are very infrequently encountered, have been described, including B3, Bx, Bm, and Bel.

Elution and Mechanical Strength of Vancomycin-Loaded Bone Cement: In Vitro Study of the Influence of Brand Combination. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Antibiotic-loaded bone cement (ALBC) is widely used in orthopaedic surgery for both prevention and treatment of infection. Little is known about the effect of different brand combinations of antibiotic and bone cement on the elution profile and ...

Zotarolimus-eluting versus sirolimus-eluting coronary stent implantation

open access: yesInterventional Cardiology, 2010
The safety and efficacy of coronary stents, utilized for treatment of ischemic heart disease, have been evaluated extensively. In comparison with bare-metal stents, first-generation drug-eluting stents more than halved the need for target lesion revascularization, but long-term safety has been questioned, as the first-generation drug-eluting stents ...
