A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Purification and analytical characterization of an anti- CD4 monoclonal antibody for human therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
A purification process for the monclonal anti-CD4 antibody MAX.16H5 was developed on an analytical scale using (NH&SO, precipitation, anion-exchange chromatography on MonoQ or Q-Sepharose, hydrophobic interaction chromatography on phenyl- Sepharose and ...

Comparison of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), native calcium sulfate, and high porous calcium sulfate beads as gentamicin carriers and osteoblast attachment [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2013
Calcium sulfate, a bioresorbable material, has been used as a bone substitute material and antibiotic vehicle. The increasing porosity of calcium sulfate beads might improve drug delivery capacity as well as enhance the antibiotic elution property.

Drug-eluting stent thrombosis [PDF]

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease, 2009
Stent thrombosis is a rare complication following stent implantation; if it occurs, however, it is associated with a high morbidity and mortality. Despite reduced rates of restenosis, drug-eluting stents (DES) have not reduced the incidence of stent thrombosis as compared with bare-metal stents (BMS).

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

Recovery of viral RNA and infectious foot-and-mouth disease virus from positive lateral-flow devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Foot-and-mouth disease Virus (FMDV) is an economically important, highly contagious picornavirus that affects both wild and domesticated cloven hooved animals. In developing countries, the effective laboratory diagnosis of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Nitric acid-organic mixtures surveyed for use in separation by anion exchange methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Column elution-spectrographic analysis technique compares certain solvents directly to the methanol system, using inert rare earths instead of actinides. Distribution ratios for americium between 90 percent solvent, 10 percent 5 M nitric acid and Dowex 1

Chemical analysis of soluble fractions from normal and autolysed rabbit liver by column chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Chromatography on Sephadex G-200 was performed with the soluble fraction of homogenated rabbit liver, which was extracted with 0.1 M phosphate buffer containing 0.1 M NaCl.
