Embedded Force Sensing at the Cutter

open access: yesADIPEC, 2022
Abstract Cutting and friction forces have been widely studied for PDC bits. Rock/bit interaction models are currently verified with a single cutter experiment and the utilization of multi-axis load cells. This paper aims to demonstrate an innovative method that experimentally validates the embedded cutter sensing on a laboratory scaled ...

Concentrated Force in an Elastically Embedded Disk

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mechanics, 1963
This paper deals with the concentrated force in a disk which is embedded in an unbounded elastic plane with different properties. The disk with its edge free of tractions and subjected to concentrated forces and moments is also discussed.

Delay Embeddings for Forced Systems. II. Stochastic Forcing

Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2003
Takens' Embedding Theorem forms the basis of virtually all approaches to the analysis of time series generated by nonlinear deterministic dynamical systems. It typically allows us to reconstruct an unknown dynamical system which gave rise to a given observed scalar time series simply by constructing a new state space out of successive values of the ...

Embedding force and attitude

2023
AbstractThis chapter examines a peculiar case of force/attitude embedding, i.e., the non-canonical wh-construals in Chinese and Vietnamese subordinate clauses, and offers a selection-truncation analysis along the line of the Cartographic Approach.

The force interface embedded board for surgical robot

2014 11th International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots and Ambient Intelligence (URAI), 2014
This paper presents a new circuit realization of force sensing interface module strategy for surgical robot. Using analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog conversion and mux IC, the full scaled and high resolution (14bit) sensed interface board has been developed.

Survival of the Embedded: Expelling and Embedding Forces on Members of the Corporate Elite

Corporate Governance: An International Review, 2008
ABSTRACTManuscript Type: ConceptualResearch Question/Issue: Prior research on corporate elites has focused on how interlocking directorships serve to create inter‐organizational linkages and on what happens when board members lose their seats and those linkages are broken.

Processing of Tactile/Force Measurements for a Fully Embedded Sensor

2006 IEEE International Conference on Multisensor Fusion and Integration for Intelligent Systems, 2006
A new fully embedded tactile/force sensor system to be installed on the phalanges of a robot hand is presented in this paper. Each sensor consists of a distributed array of analog tactile elements and an integrated three-component force transducer with embedded analog and digital electronics.

Delay Embeddings for Forced Systems. I. Deterministic Forcing

Journal of Nonlinear Science, 1999
The goal of this work is to investigate to what extent Takens theorem remains valid in the space of forced systems and their observation functions. It is shown that apart from minor restrictions on the forcing system \(g\), one can prove an exact analogue of Takens theorem relevant to this case.
