Embedded Systems for Mobile Sensors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, 2016
In the era of IoT, embedded systems based on mobile sensor ideas turn into increasingly compound and need understanding in various training tools such as signal processing, artificial intelligence, and multimedia communication. After a long period of computational capacity centralization, we are facing a period where the computation capacity is ...

Accurate Fiducial Point Detection Using Haar Wavelet for Beat-by-Beat Blood Pressure Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine, 2020
Pulse Arrival Time (PAT) derived from Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Photoplethysmogram (PPG) for cuff-less Blood Pressure (BP) measurement has been a contemporary and widely accepted technique. However, the features extracted for it are conventionally from

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

Domotic embedded system

open access: yesProceedings of the 2014 6th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI), 2014
This paper presents an original domotic embedded system for room temperature monitoring. The OpenRemote is the main software interface between the user and the system, but other software components and communication protocols are used, such as 1-Wire protocol for temperature monitoring devices, RS-232 for the central PC unit and OWFS software for ...

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

A Holistic Approach in Embedded System Development

open access: yes, 2015
We present pState, a tool for developing "complex" embedded systems by integrating validation into the design process. The goal is to reduce validation time. To this end, qualitative and quantitative properties are specified in system models expressed as

Monte Carlo Radiative Transfer in Embedded Prestellar Cores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We implement a Monte Carlo radiative transfer method, that uses a large number of monochromatic luminosity packets to represent the radiation transported through a system. These packets are injected into the system and interact stochastically with it. We

Residual Attention Network with Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling for Soil Element Estimation in LUCAS Hyperspectral Data

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Visible and near-infrared (Vis–NIR) spectroscopy enables the rapid prediction of soil properties but faces three limitations with conventional machine learning: information loss and overfitting from high-dimensional spectral features; inadequate modeling

CoCoMo: Toward controllable and reliable corrosion monitoring with a wireless sensor network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
Corrosion monitoring is highly needed in concrete–steel civil engineering applications. By the corrosion information captured from structures, field experts can deduce where the corrosion events occur and how they will possibly evolve.
