The Effect of Embedded Sensors on the Strength of Composite Laminates
Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 1992In-plane compressive and three-point bend tests were performed to evalu ate the strengths of composite laminates containing embedded sensors. Unidirectional, cross-ply and quasi-isotropic specimens were fabricated using Fiberite T300/976 or Fiberite APC-2 unidirectional tape.

Grain angle and temperature effect on embedding strength
Construction and Building Materials, 2017Abstract The objective of this research is to evaluate the effect of temperature and grain angles on the wood embedding strength in the range from 20 to 140 °C. To this end, a reduction factor of the wood embedding strength is proposed as a continuous function of the grain angle and the temperature, for use in modeling of timber bolted connections ...

Dielectric strength and thermal performance of PCB-embedded power electronics
Microelectronics Reliability, 2014Abstract Advantages of embedded power electronics compared to classical soldered and bonded DCB modules are smaller size, less weight, and cost savings (Hofmann et al., 2012) [1]. In addition, the low parasitic inductance provided by the embedded technology offers the potential to better utilize the maximum chip voltages and the use of fast switching

Embedded Functions for Constraints and Variable Strength in Combinatorial Testing
2016 IEEE Ninth International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation Workshops (ICSTW), 2016An embedded functions feature was implemented to specify functionally dependent relations among test factors. Functions embedded in a combinatorial test case generator specified test factor constraints to which the resulting test cases conformed. The functions were defined in a general-purpose programming language widely used among software engineers ...

Strength of lap joints with embedded cover plate
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2015In this study, stress behavior of double strap joints under tensile load has been investigated numerically and experimentally. In order to strengthen the joint, the strap plates were embedded in the main adherend. In the tests, DP-810 was used as adhesive material while the steel was employed as adherend.

Strength and fracture analysis of silicon-based components for embedding
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2011Abstract Single-crystalline silicon chips are widely employed in printed circuit boards (PCBs) as embedded components. Their design often requires one side patterned with metal contacts, whereas the opposite one is constituted by pure silicon. These components must possess a minimum strength to withstand the loads occurring during both production and

Network Embedding via Link Strength Adjusted Random Walk
2019Network embedding is a useful tool to map graph structures into vector spaces, which facilitates graph analysis tasks including node classification, graph visualization, similarity calculation etc. Existing network embedding methods calculate embedding vectors based on node series generated by random walks.

Effects of embedded reinforcement on measured strength of concrete cylinders
Magazine of Concrete Research, 1989The effects of embedded steel bars on the strength of concrete cylinders as affected by various parameters were investigated. These parameters were the size and the length/diameter ratio of the cylinders, the positioning of the steel bar, the bar size and the cube strength of concrete.
