Storability Studies of Aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn.) Syrup

With a view to develop value added products, from aonla cultivar NA-7, syrup was prepared under different treatments. The prepared syrup was kept at ambient condition for storage study. The syrup remained acceptable upto 240 days at ambient condition.

Flavonoids from Emblica officinalis and Mangifera indica—effectiveness for dyslipidemia

Flavonoids from Emblica officinalis and Mangifera indica effectively reduce lipid levels in serum and tissues of rats induced hyperlipidemia. Hepatic HMG CoA reductase activity was significantly inhibited in rats fed E. officinalis flavonoids. But increase of this enzyme was observed in rats administered M. indica flavonoids.

Emblica officinalis reduces serum, aortic and hepatic cholesterol in rabbits

Emblica officinalis reduced serum cholesterol (p less than 0.001), aortic cholesterol (p less than 0.001) and hepatic cholesterol (p less than 0.001) significantly in rabbits. Emblica officinalis did not influence euglobulin clot lysis time, platelet adhesiveness or serum triglyceride levels.
