Web application for calculating embodied carbon emissions in building
Embodied carbon in building is the carbon dioxide emissions associated with materials and construction processes throughout the whole lifecycle of a building. The carbon footprint of existing building can be used as an imperative indicator or reference for future carbon taxes and house building to meet climate goals.

Incorporating embodied energy in the BIM process
This paper examines the incorporation of carbon data into the Building Information Model (BIM) process and considers option appraisals that will enable design team members to evaluate both operational and embodied CO2 emissions over the life cycle of a ...

Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

Quantifying the Provincial Carbon Emissions of China Embodied in Trade: The Perspective of Land Use
Land use supports production and living activities and provides ecosystem services for people. With the flow of capital, goods, and services among regions, trade leads to the transfer of carbon emissions from importing regions to exporting regions, and ...

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

Greenhouse gas emissions in New Zealand: a preliminary consumption-based analysis [PDF]
: New Zealand’s per capita greenhouse gas emissions are usually calculated by taking total emissions as reported under the Kyoto Protocol or the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and simply dividing by population. However this focuses

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Carbon dioxide emissions embodied in international trade in Central Europe between 1995 and 2008
Climate change and environmental policies are widely discussed, but much less is known about emissions embodied in goods traded internationally, and the distinction between emission producers and consumers.
