Therapeutic management of acute pulmonary embolism
Expert Review of Respiratory Medicine, 2017Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is a potentially fatal manifestation of venous thromboembolism. Prompt anticoagulant treatment is crucial for PE patients, which can decrease morbidity and mortality. Risk assessment is the cornerstone of the therapeutic management of PE. It guides physicians to the most appropriate treatment and selects patients for early

Therapeutic approach to acute pulmonary embolism
Intensive Care Medicine, 1984Many therapeutic aspects of venous thromboembolism continue to generate controversy so that the general therapeutic guidelines given below are only indicative. The first step is the diagnosis of venous thromboembolism; this is done in the vast majority of patients by visualization of blood clots using either pulmonary angiography or phlebography.

In the latter patient, bleeding ceased on embolization of the right hepatic artery and did not recur.

Therapeutic embolization for severe epistaxis.
The Journal of otolaryngology, 1982Severe intractable epistaxis remains a therapeutic challenge for the otolaryngologist. Embolization would appear to add a valuable treatment modality in dealing with particular cases refractory to conventional management. In selective cases it may prove superior to surgical intervention because of repeated accessibility and circumvention of the problem

Archivos espanoles de urologia, 1979We present our casuistry of 17 embolized kidney adenocarcinomas with fibrin sponge and/or metal spirals. In 13, the embolization was preoperative and in 4 palliative. In two out of the latter group a control aortogram revealing no rechanneling of the renal artery, was performed several weeks later. We mention the clinico-biochemical disorders caused by
