Migration and Growth of Protoplanetary Embryos I: Convergence of Embryos in Protoplanetary Disks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
According to the core-accretion scenario, planets form in protostellar disks through the condensation of dust, coagulation of planetesimals, and emergence of protoplanetary embryos. At a few AU in a minimum mass nebula, embryos' growth is quenched by dynamical isolation due to the depletion of planetesimals in their feeding zone.

Transcriptional defects and reprogramming barriers in somatic cell nuclear reprogramming as revealed by single-embryo RNA sequencing

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2018
Background Nuclear reprogramming reinstates totipotency or pluripotency in somatic cells by changing their gene transcription profile. This technology is widely used in medicine, animal husbandry and other industries.

The effects of chemical and physical factors on mammalian embryo culture and their importance for the practice of assisted human reproduction.

open access: yesHuman Reproduction Update, 2016
BACKGROUND Although laboratory procedures, along with culture media formulations, have improved over the past two decades, the issue remains that human IVF is performed in vitro (literally 'in glass').

Immunogenicity evaluation of inactivated virus and purified proteins of porcine circovirus type 2 in mice

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2018
Background Vaccination is considered as an effective and economical way to against PCV2 infection. However, some of commercial available vaccines are based on inactivated viruses, while the others are based on purified protein of PCV2.

Identification of key factors conquering developmental arrest of somatic cell cloned embryos by combining embryo biopsy and single-cell sequencing

open access: yesCell Discovery, 2016
Differentiated somatic cells can be reprogrammed into totipotent embryos through somatic cell nuclear transfer. However, most cloned embryos arrest at early stages and the underlying molecular mechanism remains largely unexplored.

MBNL1 Suppressed Cancer Metastatic of Skin Squamous Cell Carcinoma Via by TIAL1/MYOD1/Caspase-9/3 Signaling Pathways

open access: yesTechnology in Cancer Research & Treatment, 2021
Objective: The incidence of skin squamous cell carcinoma (SSCC) has recently been increasing, with diverse clinical manifestations.SSCC could metastasize to lymph nodes or other organs, posing a great threat to life.

Free energy of multicomponent embryo formation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
An expression for the free energy of embryo formation is constructed and analyzed. The Gibbs dividing surfaces method is used to attain a coincidence between Laplace formula for critical embryo and integral definitions of concenterations inside the embryo. A global structure of free energy is analyzed and some useful properties are extracted.

Automated Measurements of Key Morphological Features of Human Embryos for IVF [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
A major challenge in clinical In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is selecting the highest quality embryo to transfer to the patient in the hopes of achieving a pregnancy. Time-lapse microscopy provides clinicians with a wealth of information for selecting embryos.

Outward Migration of Terrestrial Embryos in Binary Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider the formation and migration of protoplanetary embryos in disks around the stars in tight binary systems (separations ~ 20 AU. In such systems, the initial stages of runaway embryo formation are expected to only take place within some critical disk radius a_{crit}, due to the perturbing effect of the binary companions (Thebault et al. 2009).

Role of microRNAs in embryo implantation

open access: yesReproductive Biology and Endocrinology, 2017
Failure of embryo implantation is a major limiting factor in early pregnancy and assisted reproduction. Determinants of implantation include the embryo viability, the endometrial receptivity, and embryo-maternal interactions.
