Morphometric analysis of gametes and embryos is crucial for optimizing Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection outcomes [PDF]

open access: yesCellular, Molecular and Biomedical Reports
Morphometric analysis of gametes and embryos is crucial for optimizing Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the importance of morphometric parameters at oocyte, zygote, and embryo stages, focusing on their ...

Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor in Single Blastocyst Conditioned Medium as a Biomarker for Predicting Implantation Outcome of Embryo

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
BackgroundIt is highly desirable to develop new strategies based on secretomics to more accurately selection of embryos with the highest developmental potential for transfer.

Time-lapse technology for embryo culture and selection

open access: yesUpsala Journal of Medical Sciences, 2020
Culturing of human embryos in optimal conditions is crucial for a successful in vitro fertilisation (IVF) programme. In addition, the capacity to assess and rank embryos correctly for quality will allow for transfer of the potentially ‘best’ embryo first,

#153 : Sperm Motility: Effect on Fertilization Rate and Embryo Quality in Patients Undergo Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection in Indonesia

open access: yesFertility & Reproduction, 2023
Background and Aims: Progressive motility may be an indicator of adequate metabolic activity of the sperm; it is important in ICSI as it helps embryologists in picking a viable and best spermatozoa for injection.

Embryo Aggregation in Pig Improves Cloning Efficiency and Embryo Quality

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2016

Effect of Melatonin Supplementation on In Vitro Developmental Competence of Bovine Oocyte: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International
Melatonin application in in vitro embryo production (IVEP) constitutes a promising research focus. Nevertheless, there remains a lack of comprehensive meta-analytical evidence assessing its effects in the bovine species. The present systematic review and

DHEA Supplementation Confers No Additional Benefit to that of Growth Hormone on Pregnancy and Live Birth Rates in IVF Patients Categorized as Poor Prognosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2018
BackgroundIn vitro fertilization (IVF) patients receive various adjuvant therapies to enhance success rates, but the true benefit is actively debated. Growth hormone (GH) and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) supplementation were assessed in women undergoing

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

High multiple pregnancy rates after double embryo transfers in human: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesReproduction and Fertility
To improve clinical outcomes of human medically assisted reproduction, the transfer of multiple embryos is frequently performed. This leads to high rates of multiple pregnancies.
