Female gametophyte and pollen tube of Epilobium palustre L.

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2015
The monosporic, tetranucleate embryo sac of Epilobium palustre (Onagraceae) develops from the micropylar megaspore in a linear tetrad. In mononucleate embryo sacs a peculiar chromatic structure associated with a nucleolus appears in the nucleus.

Megasporogenesis and Development of Embryo Sac inCrocus SativusL. [PDF]

open access: yesCaryologia, 1987
SUMMARYCytological observations during megasporogenesis and embryo sac development of Crocus sativus L. are reported. During meiotic divisions irregular assortment of chromosomes was observed; consequently, megaspores resulted numerically variable (4–6) and they were genetically unbalanced.

TAB2 Causes Neuronal Damage by Aggravating Microglia‐Mediated Neuroinflammation in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In microglia, STAT3 upregulates TAB2, which promotes NF‐κB activation through its NZF domain‐mediated recognition of K63‐linked ubiquitin chains, leading to inflammatory cytokine release and subsequent neuronal injury. Lumacaftor suppresses TAB2 expression and directly binds the TAB2‐NZF domain to interrupt K63 ubiquitin recognition, thereby blocking ...

Development of Ovule and Embryo Sac in Blotched Tree Peony (Paeonia rockii)

open access: yes, 1999
This paper dealt with the ovule ontogenesis and development, the megasporogenesis and the embryo sac development in Paeonia rockii cvs. The ovule, originated from the tri-zonate primordium, was anatropous, bitegmic and crassinucellate.

Development of Embryo Sac and Embryo in Euphorbia preslii and E. splendens [PDF]

open access: yesBotanical Gazette, 1917
1. The cyathium of both species studied begins as a papilla which arises between two bracts. The order of appearance of the parts of the cyathium is as follows: staminate flowers, involucre, ovules, carpels, and secondary staminate flowers which arise as branches of the first set. 2. The megaspore mother cell is subepidermal in origin in E.

NICE: A Two‐Step Non‐Invasive Framework for Embryo cfDNA Read Enrichment and Quality Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The non‐invasive NICE framework, built on an ensemble stacking machine learning model, prioritizes embryos by analyzing cell‐free DNA from spent culture medium. By integrating multimodal signals, including genomic and epigenetic profiles, this automated approach standardizes morphological assessment without human bias, paving the way for more precise ...

Engineered Transformer Base Editor with Enhanced Editing Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A highly efficient transformer base editor system achieves robust genomic editing in a humanized mouse model. This work establishes a versatile and translatable platform, opening new avenues for precision gene therapy. ABSTRACT Canonical cytosine base editors (CBEs) achieve precise C‐to‐T conversions without inducing DNA double‐strand breaks (DSBs ...

Palmitoyl Acyltransferase Zdhhc17 Promotes Functional Recovery After Spinal Cord Injury by Targeting the Nuclear Transport Factors Kpna2 and Ipo9

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we demonstrate that Zdhhc17, acting as a PAT, suppresses neuronal apoptosis and promotes axon regeneration after injury, thereby enhancing functional recovery following SCI. In this context, Kpna2 and Ipo9 serve as novel palmitoylation substrates of Zdhhc17, whose palmitoylation prevents the injury‐induced degradation of their proteins ...

Floral morphology and embryo sac development in Burretiodendron kydiifolium Y. C. Hsu et R. Zhuge (Tiliaceae) and their systematic significance

open access: yes, 1998
Floral morphology and development of megaspore and megagametophyte in Burretiodendron kydiifolium are described. The ovule is anatropous, crassinucellate and bitegmic. The archesporium is multicellular and usually two cells develop to megasporocytes. The
