Emergent command and control architecture for dynamic agent communities

Journal of Experimental & Theoretical Artificial Intelligence, 2011
Dynamic multi-agent systems require some accountability mechanism to ensure goal distribution and completion. Accountability can be maintained through proper delineation of power. An organisation is well delineated when each member has an unambiguous power relationship with its peers.

Social networks and emergency: From society to the command room

Proceedings of the 2011 15th International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design (CSCWD), 2011
Events that threatens the status quo must be appropriately managed in order to reduce risk and bring the situation back to normal in a speedy fashion. In general, there is a lack of up to date information in emergency situations, this could be alleviated through the use of contextual information generated by social media sites.

Emerging command neuron circuitry in evolved autonomous agents

Neurocomputing, 2001
Abstract Using a novel approach of Evolutionary Artificial Neural Networks (EANNs), we demonstrate the spontaneous emergence of a command neuron as a robust feature in evolved neuro-controllers for autonomous agents. The significance of EANNs to computational neuroscience is discussed in view of the similarity to biological models.

Emergence of Memory-Driven Command Neurons in Evolved Artificial Agents

Neural Computation, 2001
Using evolutionary simulations, we develop autonomous agents controlled by artificial neural networks (ANNs). In simple lifelike tasks of foraging and navigation, high performance levels are attained by agents equipped with fully recurrent ANN controllers.

Simulation and management games for training command and control in emergencies

2003
The aim of our project was to introduce and implement simulation techniques in a problematic field of increasing health care system preparedness for disasters. This field was chosen as knowledge is gained by few experienced staff members who need to disperse it to others during the busy routine work of the system personnel.

Emergency planning: major incidents and command training

Journal of Paramedic Practice, 2010
Major, complex, multi-casualty incidents occur with surprising regularity and previously, the command of these from a health perspective was often delegated to those with the most experience. Time served in the ambulance service was often the measure of one's ability to take command of such an event.

An Efficient Map-Matching Mechanism for Emergency Scheduling and Commanding

2013
Efficient vehicle tracking and trajectory analyzing are important to emergency scheduling and commanding as they are essential for assessing and understanding the current situation. One of the fundamental techniques is map matching which aligns the trajectory points of moving objects to the underlying traffic network.
