GATA4‐Driven Transcription of HtrA1 Promotes Cellular Senescence in Ménière's Disease and Age‐Related Audio‐Vestibular Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the HDAC6/GATA4/HtrA1 axis as a critical driver of cellular senescence in the inner ear. GATA4 nuclear translocation, facilitated by HDAC6 downregulation, transcriptionally activates HtrA1, promoting hair cell senescence, SASP, and audio‐vestibular dysfunction in models of Ménière's disease and age‐related audio‐vestibular ...

Personalized Network‐Guided Neuromodulation Enhances Human Working Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A personalized neuromodulation framework combining individualized functional brain network targeting with real‐time neural decoding is introduced. Using concurrent TMS–fMRI, participant‐specific stimulation targets and optimal frequencies are identified. Only optimal‐frequency stimulation improves working memory across sessions.

EMG estimation from EEG for constructing a power assistance system

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
In this paper, aiming to estimate force/torque information from brain activity to help and support the daily lives of human beings, we estimate the human muscular activity from EEG (Electroencephalogram) by PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and RLS ...

Reinnervation of Muscle Targets Enhances the Separability of Motor Unit Signals Following Peripheral Nerve Transfers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Injured or cut peripheral nerves can be surgically rerouted to reinnervate new muscle targets. This study demonstrates reinnervated muscles exhibit enhanced separability between individual motor unit signals, which can simplify signal recording and decomposition. These findings highlight the potential of reinnervated muscle to serve as a key biological

THE EFFECTS OF MUSCLE LENGTH ON FORCE STEADINESS AND EMG RESPONSES FOLLOWING A FATIGUING PROTOCOL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of muscle length on force steadiness and EMG responses following a fatiguing intervention. Twenty-three subjects, fifteen men and eight women, were required to perform isometric contractions of their ...
