The location and kinematics of the emission line regions in Active Galactic Nuclei [PDF]
This thesis contains the results from a study of the optical emission lines of various samples of active galactic nuclei (AGN). We have used three separate techniques to determine the precise kinematics and the relative location of the emission line ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Investigation of the Nature of the B[e] Star CI Cam in the Optical Range
The B[e] phenomenon is observed in a wide range of stars at various evolutionary stages. Its nature remains uncertain. The B[e] phenomenon is defined as the simultaneous presence of low-excitation forbidden line emission and strong infrared excess in the

High resolution studies of early type emission line stars [PDF]
This thesis presents a study of early type, emission line objects on small angular scales. Spectroastrometry is used to separate the spectra of unresolved Herbig Ae/Be binary systems.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Infrared emission lines of Mg II in B stars [PDF]
Recently, Chang et. al. (1992) and Carlsson, Rutten and Shchukina (1992) (CRS) demonstrated the non-LTE formation mechanism behind the 12 μm Mg I emission lines (6g–7h, 6h–7i) observed in the solar spectrum (Murcray et. al., 1981). CRS stress the generality of this mechanism showing that it is a natural consequence of the recombination flow from the ...

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
