Linear Spectropolarimetry of Young and Other Emission Line Stars [PDF]
The aim of this article is to demonstrate the useful role that can be played by spectropolarimetric observations of young and evolved emission line stars that analyse the linearly polarized component in their spectra. At the time of writing, this demonstration has to be made on the basis of optical data since there is no common-user infrared facility ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Identifying the dominant ionizing sources in galaxies is essential for understanding their formation and evolution. Traditionally, spectra are classified based on their dominant ionizing source using strong emission lines and Baldwin, Phillips ...

Exploring the Variability of Three Be Stars with TESS Observations
Be stars are rapidly rotating B-type stars surrounded by circumstellar disks formed from self-ejected material. Understanding the mechanisms driving mass ejection and disk formation, known as the Be phenomenon, requires a detailed investigation of their ...

Observations of southern emission-line stars
A catalog of 1929 stars showing H-alpha emission on photographic plates is presented which covers the entire southern sky south of declination -25 deg to a red limiting magnitude of about 11.0. The catalog provides previous designations of known emission-line stars equatorial (1900) and galactic coordinates, visual and photographic magnitudes, H-alpha ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Dynamical Masses and Radiative Transfer Modeling of HD 698: A Be Binary in Evolutionary Transition
We present a detailed analysis of the early post-mass-transfer binary system HD 698 (V742 Cas), combining high-resolution optical spectroscopy, long-baseline interferometry, and radiative transfer modeling.

The Effect of Viscosity on the Temperature of Ae Star Disks
This study explores the impact of viscous heating on decretion disks around Classical Ae (CAe) stars, with a focus on modeling the disk’s thermal structure.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
