Characteristics of ferroelectric electron emission
IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts. 1996 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science, 2002Summary form only given. The application of ferroelectric ceramics for electron beam generation is being studied at a number of research institutions and current densities /spl sim/100 A/cm/sup 2/ have been reported. Such ferroelectric materials can exhibit a spontaneous polarization, P/sub s/, of up to 100 /spl mu/C/cm/sup 2/. Emission occurs when the

Characteristic Emission Spectra
1996X rays are generated by acceleration of moving charged particles, by plasma heated to temperatures of the order of a million degrees, and by highly excited atoms having inner vacancies due to the radiative transitions that occur in them. During spontaneous emission of atoms with vacancies, characteristic x-ray spectra that reflect the structure of the ...

Characteristics of acoustic emission in drilling
Tribology International, 1994Abstract A drilling process is a combination of tribological and cutting processes. Therefore, the acoustic emission produced in the process is very complex due to material fracture, chip formation, wear and friction. By investigating acoustic emission in drilling, it is helpful for understanding the mechanism of the drilling process and the ...

Exhaust Emission Characteristics
1984The engine-out exhaust emissions of CO, HC, and NOx vary as a function of air-fuel ratio as well as several other parameters such as ignition timing and EGR. Here we shall consider only the relationship to air-to-fuel ratio (A/F). A general relationship between engine out CO, HC, and NOx emissions and A/F is shown in Figure 1.

On the optical characteristics of the conical emission
Optics Communications, 1986Abstract An intense laser beam blue detuned with respect to an atomic transition produces a forward conical emission. We demonstrate new experimental evidence that in sodium vapor this emission is generated at the surface of self-trapped filaments. This includes comparison of the polarization of the incident and emitted light as well as comparing the

Emission Characteristics of Syngas Flames
Heat Transfer, Volume 2, 2006Synthesis gas or "Syngas" is being recognized as a viable energy source worldwide, particularly for stationary power generation due to its wide flexibility in fuel sources and superior pollutants characteristics. Although its composition may vary significantly, it generally contains CO and H2 as the dominant fuel components with varying amount of ...

Combustion and Emission Characteristics of Methanol
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1975<div class="htmlview paragraph">A single cylinder engine was used to study the combustion and emission characteristics of methanol and indolene clear fuel. Measurements on ignition delays, combustion intervals, power, and exhaust emissions were made over a range of speeds, loads, and air-fuel mixture ratios (A/F).

Characteristic Emission Spectra
1972X-rays are emitted when materials are irradiated by electrons or x-rays of sufficient energy. Systematic investigation of the emitted spectra was first carried out by Moseley (1913). He found that the spectra of the elements are rather similar and consist only of a very few lines; he also distinguished a K series and an L series (Figures 2.1 and 2.2 ...

In inhomogeneity and emission characteristics of InGaN
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2001Recombination dynamics of spontaneous and stimulated emissions have been assessed in InGaN-based light emitting diodes (LEDs) and laser diodes (LDs), by employing time-resolved photoluminescence and pump and probe spectroscopy. As for an In0.02Ga0.98N ultraviolet LED, excitons are weakly localized by 15 meV at low temperature, but they become almost ...

Emission characteristics of porous tubing
Agricultural Water Management, 1988Abstract Porous irrigation tubing (10 mm dia) (Irrigro®) was tested to characterize the emission rate as a function of supply pressure, particulate content of the water, and start-up pressure. Emission rate declined to a steady value using unfiltered water after about 10 days with a constant pressure.
