Emission Line Nebulae in Clusters of Galaxies
1992The properties of emission line nebulae in the centers of clusters of galaxies are reviewed. Though the emission line gas (i.e., the gas at 104K) composes only a very small fraction of the mass and energy content of the ICM as a whole, the properties of this gas provide a sensitive probe of the conditions in the ICM. The traditional view holds that the

Redshift surveys of emission-line galaxies
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1988The usefulness of employing samples of emission-line galaxies as alternative means of conducting redshift surveys is discussed. Results in the directions of the Bootes and Coma voids show certain differences. In Bootes approximately ten objects have been identified within the void, but the Coma void appears empty at the same luminosities. The Coma void

Precision Cosmology with Emission-Line Galaxies
2023In the recent decade, low redshift weak lensing surveys have shown a ~2-3σ tension compared to cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy surveys when it comes to measuring the amplitude of matter clustering, σ8. If the same tension is found at a higher precision, then it could potentially point to the existence beyond ΛCDM physics.
