Specific emitter identification for enhanced access control security [PDF]

open access: yes2016 Information Security for South Africa (ISSA), 2016
This paper presents the application of specific emitter identification (SEI) to access control and points out the security caveats of current radio-based access remotes. Specifically, SEI is applied to radio frequency (RF) access remotes used to open and close motorised gates in residential housing complexes for the purposes of access control.

Evaluation of emitter location accuracy with the modified triangulation method by means of maximum likelihood estimators [PDF]

open access: yesMetrology and Measurement Systems, 2021
The determination of precise emitter location is a very important task in electronic intelligence systems. Its basic requirements include the detection of the emission of electromagnetic sources (emitters), measurement of signal parameters, determining ...

Specific emitter identification based on CNN

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Specific emitter identification is one of the important technologies of electronic countermeasures. The convolutional neural network (CNN) has a strong ability to process image classification. To solve the problem that the bispectral feature of the radiation source does not perform well in the specific emitter identification ...

IRelNet: An Improved Relation Network for Few-Shot Radar Emitter Identification

open access: yesDrones, 2023
In future electronic warfare (EW), there will be many unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with electronic support measure (ESM) systems, which will often encounter the challenge of radar emitter identification (REI) with few labeled samples.

Communication Specific Emitter Identification Based on Deep Convolutional Feature Matching

open access: yesIEEE Access
Communication specific emitter identification exploits the unintentional modulation features embedded in an emitter’s transmitted signals, known as radio frequency fingerprints, to distinguish individual emitters.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

A Real-World Dataset Generator for Specific Emitter Identification

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Generating high-quality, real-world, well-labeled datasets for radio frequency machine learning (RFML) applications often proves prohibitively cumbersome and expensive, leading to the low availability of high-fidelity, low-cost datasets. Specific emitter identification (SEI) in particular requires a hardware setup capable of supporting transmitting ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
