Acoustic measurements were conducted in three small corpora conveying the following emotional states: neutral, sad and happy speech. The main objective was to investigate, to my knowledge for the first time for the Greek language, whether there are acoustic cues that facilitate the perception of emotions in real speech situations.

Neuropsychological and neuroradiologic correlates of emotional prosody comprehension

We examined a series of 59 patients with acute stroke lesions for the presence of comprehension emotional aprosody. Based on a standardized assessment of comprehension of emotional intonation, 29 patients (49%) showed emotional aprosody (17% "mild" aprosody [n = 10] and 32% "severe" aprosody [n = 19]).

The paper makes the brief analysis on prosody parameters, stresses, rhythms and paralinguistic information in different emotional speech, and labels the speech with rich annotation information in multi-layers.
