Empagliflozin in the elderly

Gériatrie et Psychologie Neuropsychiatrie du Viellissement, 2021
Glucose and sodium tubular reabsorption inhibitors, or gliflozins, are a new therapeutic class. Their novel mechanism of action involves inhibition of a glucose and Na+ reabsorption co-transporter in the renal proximal tubule. They reduce blood glucose levels by reducing renal glucose reabsorption.

Assay of Empagliflozin in Empagliflozin Tablets by HPLC

International Journal of Drug Delivery Technology
Background: Empagliflozin is a member of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor class, which helps lower blood glucose levels by promoting the excretion of glucose through urine. It is indicated for type 2 diabetes and is not suitable for managing type 1 diabetes, where insulin production is absent.
