Emperipolesis and Annulate Lamellae in Erythroleukaemia
Scandinavian Journal of Haematology, 1983The bone marrow in the erythraemic phase of 2 erythroleukaemic patients was studied electron microscopically.Emperipolesis of erythrocytes as well as annulate lamellae were revealed in the cytoplasm of the erythroblasts of these cases. It is assumed that these findings show a high rate of erythroblastic proliferation.

Inflammatory Myxohyaline Tumor with Massive Emperipolesis
Pathology - Research and Practice, 2002We report on a 36-year-old man with a recurrent mass on the thenar side of the right hand. Against the background of dense inflammation, inflammatory malignant fibrous histiocytoma was first diagnosed, but typical morphologic features in the recurrent tumor led to a correction of the diagnosis--inflammatory myxohyaline tumor.

Veterinary Pathology, 1989Occasional lymphocytes and other leukocytes in guinea pig, rabbit, and human hepatocytes were described in 1944.2 Here we report emperipolesis in the liver of two cats with severe liver damage and intracellular neoplastic lymphoid cells in most hepatocytes.

Diagnostic Cytopathology, 2015Multinucleated giant cells of osteoclastic type are known to occur in nodal and extranodal lesions of Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH). These giant cells are thought to be derived from phagocytic histiocytes, which correlate with the degree of necrosis in LCH lesions.
