The Paris Agreement objectives will likely halt future declines of emperor penguins
The Paris Agreement is a multinational initiative to combat climate change by keeping a global temperature increase in this century to 2°C above preindustrial levels while pursuing efforts to limit the increase to 1.5°C.

A Bifunctional T3SS‐Effector Simultaneously Cleaves Host MAP Kinase and Inhibits PPM1A Phosphatase
Pathogenic bacteria exploit the metalloprotease effector NleD to subvert host defenses. Structural, biochemical, and infection analyses reveal a bifunctional mechanism by which NleD binds and inhibits the host phosphatase PPM1A while preserving its proteolytic activity against MAPKs.

Knitted Pneumatic Fabrics for Dynamic Pressure Modulation in Personalized Healthcare Wearables
A pneumatic pressure‐regulating knitted fabric (PPKF) is developed, in which knitted pneumatic circuit enables the seamless integration of ultralow radial expansion pneumatic fiber into dual‐channel textile structure. By strategically modulating channel spacing, delivering adjustable dynamic pressures and clinically relevant gradient compression ratios.

Delenda est haec Carthago: the Ostend company as a problem of European great power politics (1722-1727) [PDF]
The Ostend Company (1722-1731) is a symbol of present-day Belgium’s strangling by European Great Power politics in the Ancien Régime, and more specifically of the limitations imposed on the Southern Netherlands by the Dutch Republic in 1648.

Hotspot motion caused the Hawaiian-Emperor Bend and LLSVPs are not fixed
Controversy surrounds the fixity of both hotspots and large low shear velocity provinces (LLSVPs). Paleomagnetism, plate-circuit analyses, sediment facies, geodynamic modeling, and geochemistry suggest motion of the Hawaiian plume in Earth’s mantle ...

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Pacific plate motion change caused the Hawaiian-Emperor Bend
A conspicuous 60° bend of the Hawaiian-Emperor Chain in the north-western Pacific Ocean has variously been interpreted as the result of an abrupt Pacific plate motion change in the Eocene (∼47 Ma), a rapid southward drift of the Hawaiian hotspot before ...
