3D Microtumors Representing Ovarian Cancer Minimal Residual Disease Respond to the Fatty Acid Oxidation Inhibitor Perhexiline

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Minimal residual disease (MRD) leads to cancer relapse and poor survival in ovarian cancer. The lack of representative 3D models limits therapy development. The microfluidics‐based high throughput 3D microtumor platform described here generates clinically‐relevant MRD models. The 3D microtumors recapitulate the molecular signatures of MRD from patients.

Molecular Control of the Donor/Acceptor Interface Suppresses Charge Recombination Enabling High‐Efficiency Single‐Component Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The outstanding double‐cable‐based single‐component material, DCPY2, exhibits a suppressed charge recombination process alongside efficient charge generation. This results in a high fill factor and short‐circuit current, yielding an efficiency to 13.85%.

High‐Resolution Patterned Delivery of Chemical Signals From 3D‐Printed Picoliter Droplet Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed picoliter droplet networks have been fabricated that control gene expression in bacterial populations by releasing chemical signals with precise spatial definition and high temporal resolution. This system of effector release is widely applicable, offering diverse applications in biology and medicine.

Comparing (Empirical-Gramian-Based) Model Order Reduction Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In this work, the empirical-Gramian-based model reduction methods: Empirical poor man's truncated balanced realization, empirical approximate balancing, empirical dominant subspaces, empirical balanced truncation, and empirical balanced gains are compared in a non-parametric and two parametric variants, via ten error measures: Approximate Lebesgue $L_0$

Revealing Trapped Carrier Dynamics at Buried Interfaces in Perovskite Solar Cells via Infrared‐Modulated Action Spectroscopy with Surface Photovoltage Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new spectroscopy technique (i.e., pump‐push‐surface photovoltage) is introduced that monitors trapped carrier dynamics at the buried interfaces in perovskite solar cells (PeSCs) via combining optical trap activation by infrared light with surface photovoltage detection.

Empirical phi-divergence test statistics in the logistic regression model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this paper we apply divergence measures to empirical likelihood applied to logistic regression models. We define a family of empirical test statistics based on divergence measures, called empirical phi-divergence test statistics, extending the empirical likelihood ratio test.
