Here a transcranial photo‐biomodulation approach is developed using near‐infrared (NIR) laser on hippocampus of mice, revealing significant improvements in learning and memory ability of mice under normal and disease conditions. The improvement results from the high‐density cell‐induced NIR local energy deposition, neuronal activation, and axonogenesis

Optimal use of auxiliary information : information geometry and empirical process [PDF]
We incorporate into the empirical measure the auxiliary information given by a finite collection of expectation in an optimal information geometry way. This allows to unify several methods exploiting a side information and to uniquely define an informed empirical measure. These methods are shown to share the same asymptotic properties.

A simple and effective non‐solvent‐induced microstructure rearrangement (MSR) technique is proposed to enhance the gas separation performance of Pebax 2533 membranes. By immersing Pebax 2533 membranes in amino acid salt solutions to induce MSR, the CO2 permeability of the Pebax 2533‐GlyK 10 wt.% membrane reached 1180 Barrer.

A moderate deviation principle for empirical bootstrap measure [PDF]
We prove two Large deviations principles (LDP) in the zone of moderate deviation probabilities. First we establish LDP for the conditional distributions of moderate deviations of empirical bootstrap measures given empirical probability measures. Second we establish LDP for the joint distributions of empirical measure and bootstrap empirical measures ...

Empire’s Past . . . Empire’s Future [PDF]
In February , as I was writing this paper, the Financial Times reported at length on an upcoming British Museum exhibition on 16 th -century Persia: “the third in a series on great world empires,” following a “hugely popular show” featuring the terra cotta soldiers of the great Ch’in emperor, a second exhibition on Hadrian, and to be followed in turn ...

The impact of the ionomer to catalyst ratio for atomic Fe in N‐doped C (Fe‐N‐C) degradation in proton exchange membrane fuel cells is elucidated by advanced electrochemical techniques. Kinetic degradation dominants, with the reduction in turnover frequency of FeNx active sites initially suppressed with increasing ionomer loading.

Morphologies in‐between: The impact of the first steps on the human talus
Abstract Objective The development of bipedalism is a very complex activity that contributes to shaping the anatomy of the foot. The talus, which starts ossifying in utero, may account for the developing stages from the late gestational phase onwards.
