Asymptotic behavior and zero distribution of polynomials orthogonal with respect to Bessel functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider polynomials P_n orthogonal with respect to the weight J_? on [0,?), where J_? is the Bessel function of order ?. Asheim and Huybrechs considered these polynomials in connection with complex Gaussian quadrature for oscillatory integrals.

Influence of Clouds and Aerosols on Solar Irradiance and Application of Climate Indices in Its Monthly Forecast over China

open access: yesAtmosphere
Based on the Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System (CERES) satellite data from 2001 to 2023 and the climate indices from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this study analyzes the solar irradiance over mainland China and ...

Feature analysis of stratospheric wind and temperature fields over the Antigua site by rocket data

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Physics, 2019
The wind and temperature fields at 20 to 55 km above the Antigua launch site (17°N, 61°W) were analyzed by using sounding rocket data published by the research organization on Stratosphere-Troposphere Processes and their Role in Climate (SPARC).

Baroclinic Empirical Orthogonal Functions as Basis Functions in an Atmospheric Model

open access: yesJournal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 1997
In this study, empirical orthogonal functions (EOFs) are used as basis functions in a spectral model of the atmospheric circulation. Two hypotheses are tested. The first hypothesis is that a basis of EOFs is more efficient in describing large-scale atmospheric dynamics compared to spherical harmonics.

Lipidomic Profile Reconstruction of Therapeutic Membrane Targets Using Physics‐Based Optimization with Limited Activity Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a minimal set of experimentally labeled antimicrobial and non‐antimicrobial peptides, we reconstruct the effective lipid composition of a pathogenic membrane ‐demonstrated at the example of bacterial membranes‐ through a physics‐based evolutionary molecular dynamics (Evo‐MD) approach. Optimization based on peptide insertion reveals broad‐spectrum

TSTScope Unifies Single‐Cell Multi‐Omics to Identify Functional T Cell States Predictive of Immunotherapy Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TSTScope is an interpretable AI framework that integrates single‐cell transcriptomes with TCR information through curated gene‐program constraints. By linking receptor context to functional T cell states, it reveals response‐associated tumor‐specific T cell programs in lung cancer immunotherapy cohorts and defines an MPR score associated with ...

An elastic net orthogonal forward regression algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we propose an efficient two-level model identification method for a large class of linear-in-the-parameters models from the observational data. A new elastic net orthogonal forward regression (ENOFR) algorithm is employed at the lower level

Orthogonal learning particle swarm optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Particle swarm optimization (PSO) relies on its learning strategy to guide its search direction. Traditionally, each particle utilizes its historical best experience and its neighborhood’s best experience through linear summation.

SemanticST: A Scalable Multi‐Contextual Graph Learning Framework for Uncovering Spatial Niches and Robust Multi‐Sample Integration in Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Technical limitations often let dominant signals overshadow rare cell types and fine‐grained heterogeneity in spatial transcriptomics. SemanticST, a graph neural network using multi‐semantic graph fusion and a novel min‐cut loss, recovers these subtle patterns.

Inverse Design of Pre‐Strain via a Predictive Electromechanical Model for Enhanced Strain Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An analytical electromechanical model rooted in microcrack evolution mechanics is globally calibrated from only eight pre‐strain datasets, enabling prediction of the complete sensing response at untested pre‐strain values within the calibrated design space (R2 > 0.99).
