Ameloblastic disturbances are correlated with defects in enamel. Experimental disturbances created by tetracyclines, fluorides, and antamitotic drugs are emphasized. Cellular alterations are shown to interfere with both matrix production and secretion. Defects in enamel formation are characterized by abnormal crystal size and distribution.
